2 hidden methods to get extra from your Gmail address

Here i want to show some hidden features of Gmail, which you may not be aware of.

1- Append a plus ("+") sign and any combination of words or numbers after your email address. For example, if your name was waqas@gmail.com, you could send mail to waqas+friends@gmail.com or waqas+mailinglists@gmail.com. The email will receive to waqas@gmail.com.

2- Insert one or several dots (".") anywhere in your email address. Gmail doesn't recognize periods as characters in addresses -- we just ignore them. For example, you could tell people your address was hikingfan@gmail.com, hiking.fan@gmail.com or hi.kin.g.fan@gmail.com. (We understand that there has been some confusion about this in the past, but to settle it once and for all, you can indeed receive mail at all the variations with dots.)

Zip Bomb : 4 KB file with Thousands of GB Data

You all are familiar with Zip file, this is a technique with which you can compress your data and create a single file which is small in size and can be transferred from computer to computer.

Zip Bomb is a file, which can easily harm your computer. When you download it, it's size only 4.5 KB, but when you uncommonness it, it's data becomes 4.5 PB, with which your computer can easily get harm during huge processing.

The process is simple. According to the creator of this virus, he had a file with 4.6GB Size and only zeros in it. after making 16 copies of this file, he compressed these in a single zip file, and then again made 16 copies of this zip file and then zip these zipped files to a single zip file, and continues this process for some iterations.

Now when you unzip this file, it compresses a single file in an iteration again and again and this becomes an unstopped process, which finally harms your system.

If you want to try these, here are the links.

JavaScript Animation That Works (Part 2 of 4)

In the last post, we introduced the idea of spriting, an easy way to animate in JavaScript that works in all browsers. We also walked through how to set up the sprite as a background image for a div and then use a line of JavaScript to change the background position to make it appear as if the image has moved. In this post, we will use this technique to animate both running and jumping motions. In order to create the animation, we will need to quickly change the background position at a regular interval. Take a look again at the sprite we are using.

How to Create an Interactive Children’s Book for the iPad

With the iPad, it's never been a better time to be a kid! The iPad allows developers to create beautiful interactive children's books that simply cannot be replicated in any other medium. For some examples, check out The Monster at the End of This Book, Bobo Explores Light, and Wild Fables. In the old days, developers had to use third party frameworks like Cocos2d to get the job done. But now, Apple has provided their own 2D framework called Sprite Kit, which is perfect for creating these types of books. In this tutorial, you'll create an interactive children's book using the Sprite Kit framework, where you'll learn how to add objects to scenes, create animation sequences, allow the reader to interact with the book and even how to add sound and music to your book! This tutorial assumes you are familiar with at least the basics of Sprite Kit. If you are new to Sprite Kit, please check out our Sprite Kit Tutorial for Beginners first.

Introduction to Objective-C Blocks

Blocks are a feature that was first introduced in iOS 4.0 SDK and provide much the same functionality as C functions that greatly simplifies your code. You should come across it as we've used blocks in several programming tutorials. In programming, what differentiates a good developer from a great developer is the way each one takes advantage of the programming tools he or she offered by the used language. So let's have an in-depth discussion of blocks.

SSIS #116–What is the variable value at runtime?

Using variables in SSIS packages can make your ETL process more dynamic and respond to different scenarios during runtime. Not only we can use variables, we also have many different ways to set values for our variables. This is all good news for developers. But like many things in real life, when we have too many choices, we can get carried away and overcome by our enthusiasm. This is especially true in terms of variables in SSIS packages.

Areas in ASP.NET MVC 4

In this article, we will learn the concept of Areas and how to use it with a practical scenario in ASP.NET MVC 4. By convention in ASP.NET MVC project template, to separate application code based on responsibilities, we have top level folders as Controllers, Views, and Models. In Controllers folder we can have several controllers, each of them is focused on specific areas of functionality. Inside top level Views folder, there are folders, corresponding to controllers (having the same name), and containing views files for the controller. Corresponding to Action names in controller, we have view files (.cshtml file) in it. Finally in top level Models folder we have models which manages the behaviour and data for the application domain. This approach works well for small applications having less number of controllers and views. As the number of controllers and views grow, we feel the need of grouping the controllers and views. For large applications, we often face such problem to organize the code effectively. In such cases, Areas help us to organize the code.

Android User Interface Controls Example

Input Controls are the View components in the user interface that the user can interact with. You can add as many as you want in your application, by declaring the appropriate XML elements in a XML layout file, which is placed in the res/layout directory of your project. In this example we are going to show the most common controls and how we can use them in our app.

Android Event Handling Example

Events represents a response to user's interaction with input controls, such as press of a button or touch of the screen. Android framework places each occurring Event into a queue, which is based on FIFO (first-in first-out) logic. When an Event happens an Event Listener, which is involved with the View object, should be registered. Then, the registered Event Listener should implement a corresponding callback method (Event Handler), in order to handle the Event.

iOS Programming Recipe 32: Easy Web Back-End with Parse

As a developer you quickly find out that many of the more useful apps require a web backend of some sort. This presents a problem for developers looking to build something without wanting to create a website and a RESTful API service to support their app. There are a number of platforms that seek to solve this problem, but the one I've been playing with lately is Parse. Parse so far has impressed me for a number of reasons, but mainly because it's free for quite a few requests and really easy to use. This tutorial will walk you through getting started with parse and demonstrate some of the nifty features.

Implementing Password Reset in MVC 4 EF Code First using Simple Membership – Part 2

I apologize for the long delay between part 1 and part 2, but I've been really busy. I've created 2 new jQuery plugins (scrolling related) and I've put out my own RWD Grid Framework called Bare Bones. Check them out! So it took me a while to figure out where we left off and what the next step is. Before you continue with this tutorial, you should already have a working copy of where we ended up with Part 1: an extended account model that allows for email entry. That was the hard part. In Part 2, I'm going to explain how to use WebSecurity.GeneratePasswordResetToken that will create a token used to reset a user's password. This is currently the most common way to recover a password: an email is sent to the user's verified email address with a link the user can use to reset their password.

Exception Handling in ASP.NET Web API

In one of my previous articles, we explored how to handle Exceptions in WCF RESTful services. In this article the focus is same to handle exceptions but for ASP.NET Web API service. HttpResponseException class plays its role to return HTTP status code as well as further exception details to client. We can simply return respective error status code from Web API service instead of a 500 generic error code i.e. Internal Server Error. Here we will implement exception handling for the same ASP.NET Web API service created earlier in a tutorial i.e. "Simply create ASP.NET Web API service with all CRUD operations". Now, we have Web API service controller StudentController having GET method taking "Id" as parameter and returns a student against it. If student doesn't exists against a provided student Id, then we can handle and throw the exception with respective status code i.e. "Not Found".

Four Options for Mobile Form Validation

Form validation is among the most despised tasks in web development. Implementing client-side validation in a user-friendly, developer-friendly, and accessible way is shockingly difficult - especially in the context of mobile. Worse, since the need for server-side validation is not removed, any client-side validation violates the DRY principle of software development. In this article we'll look at some mobile form validation best practices, and a few different ways to implement them. We'll specifically look at the following four approaches:

iOS SDK : Working with NSURLSession: Part 3

The podcast client that we're about to create isn't really going to be that functional. It will allow the user to query the iTunes Search API for a list of podcasts, select a podcast, and download episodes. Since we are focusing on the NSURLSession API, we won't go into playing the episodes the application downloads. The project, however, will teach you how to use data tasks and download tasks in a real world application. The podcast client will also enable background downloads for which we'll leverage NSURLSession's out-of-process API. We have quite a few things to do so let's not waste time and get started.

Look at the animated image given below, which was the actual framework before HTML5 equivalent updates with ASP.NET 4.5 Framework. In the above image we can't even select multiple files. So, after the HTML5 equivalent update we can select multiple.

Introduction to ASP.NET MVC Model Binding - An Absolute Beginner's Tutorial

Whenever I talk to experiences ASP.NET Web Forms' developers(who recently started using ASP.NET MVC), I get one question quite often i.e. "How the values from HTML form(view) gets converted to the Model class when it reaches the Action method of the Controller class?". The answer to this question is that all this magic is being done by ASP.NET model binder. What Model binder does is that it takes the values coming from an HTML page and map it to a corresponding model. This is a very useful since it relieves the developers from writing all the "type casting" and "HTML-Model mapping" code. The Model binder is capable of retrieving the data from HTML form variables, POSTed variables and files, query string parameters and the values added in the routes. It might seem a very simple task that we could have done ourselves without the need of Model Binder but in fact this mapping, if done manually, can become very time consuming, cumbersome and error prone. In this article, we will try to implement a simple solution without utilizing the Model binding and then we will try to see how Model binding saves us from writing a lot of mundane code.

Interfaces vs Delegates

Having different options can be great if one of the options is really more suited for a specific task, but having more options can also make decisions harder when different options have different advantages and disadvantages. I often need to stop and carefully think if an interface will or will not do a better job than a delegate and sometimes I even go back to my old code, that I initially implemented using delegates, to replace the delegates by interfaces. So, I decided it was time to write an article and show the advantages and disadvantages of both approaches.

Partial Classes in C# With Real Example

In this article, I explain partial classes in C# language with an example. A partial class splits the definition of a class over two or more source files. You can create a class definition in multiple files but it will be compiled as one class. Suppose you have a "Person" class. That definition is divided into the two source files "Person1.cs" and "Person2.cs". Then these two files have a class that is a partial class. You compile the source code, then create a single class. Let's see that in Figure 1.1.
