2- Open Source iOS Control For Easily Making An Animated Carousel From A Group Of Images

A library that allows you to automatically take a group of images and turn them into an animated photo gallery complete with fade transitions and a ken burns like effect.

Open Source UICollectionView Replacement For Maintaining Compatibility With Older iOS Versions



Today's iOS Developer resource is an open source control that provides a UICollectionView implementation with a syntax 100% compatible to that of Apple's UICollectionView added in the iOS 6 SDK, but works with iOS 4.3+.:

A great control for maintaining compatibility with users of older iOS versions.

Objective-C Literals


Three new features were introduced into clang at the same time: NSNumber Literals provide a syntax for creating NSNumber from scalar literal expressions; Collection Literals provide a short-hand for creating arrays and dictionaries; Object Subscripting provides a way to use subscripting with Objective-C objects. Users of Apple compiler releases can use these features starting with the Apple LLVM Compiler 4.0. Users of open-source LLVM.org compiler releases can use these features starting with clang v3.1.

iOS Resources : Open Source iOS Library And Example For Creating A Drum Beat Maker


For anyone looking to create a drum beat maker on the iOS platform. Also included is a great example that could be used as a starting point on creating your own drum beat app.

The library is BBGroover by Parker Wightman and can be found on Github here.

The project uses ObjectAL, and you can use CocoaPods to set up the dependencies if you have difficulty compiling the project.

Overall a very nice library, and a very useful example if you're thinking of creating a similar app.

1- Open Source Unity 2D Game Framework With A Flash/Cocos2D Like Syntax
A new framework from Matt Rix known as Futile for creating 2D games with Unity with a syntax similar to that used by the populariOS game engine Cocos2d.

A new framework still under development, but looks like it's off to a great start.

2- Open Source iOS Library Allows UIAppearance Usage With A CSS Style Syntax
A great timesaver when using the UIAppearance protocol.

Open Source Robot Framework Inspired iOS App Automation Library


This library provides an easy way to automate usage of your apps in the simulator.  Included are a number of easy ways to perform swipe gestures, rotation and more.

To install you will first need the Python Installer PyPi then execute:

pip install --upgrade robotframework-ioslibrary

You can find out how to set up your app and get started on the Github page.

A full list of automation commands can be found in the documentation.
