Creating a style is a fairly simple thing to do – if you do it in the right order. Which means, create the style first, then change the properties. You can't – not yet atleast – change lots of properties on a given control, lets say a button, and then with one click say: Ok – now export the changed properties to a style. (hopefully it will be possible one day). So when you get the chance, create the style first, then change properties. -Should you do it the other way around you have to do a bit of extra work, but in the end of the post I'll show you how to do it too.
