Like so many devs out there, I was recently faced with that exact question. It turns out that there are two options for doing so 1) Build HTML5 web apps and a bunch of shell apps, one for each of the platform or 2) build native apps for each of the platforms. Since I don't have expertise in all of the platforms or the time and money to get ramped up on all of them, I decided to look into the first option. I was also fortunate enough to hear about a new cross-platform development framework thatDevExpress was working on called DXTREME. DXTREME is designed to help you build apps for Android, Apple, and Windows 8 using technologies that web devs know inside and out like HTML, JavaScript, CSS and a XAML (for Win8 only). It includes a set of libraries, controls and other assets that abstract away the complexities of building applications for all of these different platforms. It integrates directly with Visual Studio and comes with a project template that you can use to build apps.
