I'll give you a moment to let the booing simmer down. The reason I can safely say that is we haven't seen a new hint at Silverlight vNext. Whilst it's great to see that they didn't totally abandon the concept of Silverlight in Windows 8, it still means the plug-in approach is now officially dead.

What does this mean?

Firstly, its likely Silverlight 5 will be the last major release and its likely you will have to just live with what's in front of you for quite some time – much like we have with WPF. Some would argue well it's not about the brand Silverlight it's about my personal skills in XAML/C# that really matters.
