How shopify work?
How newbie work on shopify?
Dropshipping is not quick get to rich scheme, you'll need of pretty good budget to invest on site customisation, products research (depends on niche), then on marketing to test products one by one wisely rather foolishly if running a general store which i always recommend.
I am giving you advise, concept, budget, idea to start - As we all are lockdown, so i recommend to newbies to setup a general store, find those random trending products people are actually looking for in lockdown like fitness stuffs, clothes, equipments, kitchen stuffs, people love cooking, electronics gadgets for YouTuber, tiktoker etc, make sense but we're not creating any Walmart and Amazon, we add best 10 to 25 trending products, setup a decent website and then test products wisely one by one to find winning product. That's how dropshipping works.
This might help you -
Hi there, As a beginner you'll need of total 700 to 1000$ not at once even not certain in 2020 as competition has been growing day by day.
300 to 500$ you'll need of to invest on site customisation, products research tools, testing products through fb ads, if lucky enough to find winning one, rest amount you'll need to invest on scaling plus labeling your store by creating a brand, as later you've to slightly convert your normal general store into brand.
If you're really passionate about something, always open a niche store but you've to work hard on niche & products research, competitors, suppliers, images, Descriptions, adcopy video or so many things before go for niche. It also need of pretty good budget and time to check product demand and engagement first and collect data as much as you can and spend money as per analytics.
If you've no idea where to start, so i always recommend open a general store but we're not creating Walmart and amazon, we add those trending products only, already working for someone or pretty good has daily orders, trending on fb, AliExpress, use different tools for products research like niche scrapper, ecom hunt, pexda, e-sniper, Salesource. io, AliExpress dropship centre tab to check daily orders etc for that, some gives you trial for a day and then pay for premium to find trending products, add to website, work on Modifying, then replicate in our own style by creating different adcopies and test it. Also products should be problem solving, or impulse buying, products descriptions should be attractive, appealing, convincing by using images, gifs, embed video for demonstration if possible, use multiple suppliers those has pretty good products with fast shipping to your target countries.
Understand the concept of dropshipping, it's all about testing different products and niches to get success. Without testing anything you'll never know but still we all need good guidance so that we don't waste too much money on wrong niche, also make sure you have atleast one payment gateway like PayPal if targeting worldwide or first world countries - usa, uk, Australia, Canada, including whole Europe.
I am just giving you an idea what an ideal store should have first to attract visitors and then marketing matters for conversion.
You should have decent logo in transparent png format and same for Checkout with nice banner, custom Shopify domain rather using sub domain of Shopify ( buy from Shopify as they offer two professional support emails), coding to modify cart & products pages by adding neat trust & secure payment badges, promising texts, upselling, some useful apps for customisation, remove powered by shopify, decent graphics especially Sliders and banners, should have all the crystal clear legal and other mandatory pages, footer and header with attractive collection, best selling products with discounts on homepage, make your products descriptions more attractive, appealing, convincing, by using images, gifs embed video if possible for demonstration but it depends on niches and products you're selling.
Rest if we talk about marketing - always run ppe campaign especially in niche store case to check product engagement, demand first and then invest money on purchase conversion campaign for sales.
Also for some countries, you guys should have atleast one supportive payment gateway to link with shopify for transaction, incase business PayPal, Stripe, shopify payments doesn't support for receiving payment, you can try 2checkout, Payoneer, Paystack etc an exception.
I also wouldn't recommend as a beginner to open one product store, you might get few sales but won't get consistent if it has been already selling very well by others. Always open a general store to add problem solving products or impulse buying one, you can test unlimited products and find many winners.
For one product or niche store is like a Branded store. You'll need to run PPE campaign to spread brand awareness, check product engagement, demand, hunger about getting products and once you find everything is going as per plan, start running purchase campaign for sales.
